Western Turnpike Rescue Squad


WTRS is a Basic Life Support Ambulance Service, certified by New York State.  We provide around the clock emergency services via the 9-1-1 system to the Towns of Guilderland and North Bethlehem in Albany County.
WTRS serves a population that exceeds 40,000 citizens and has a call volume averaging 3300 calls per year.  Our service area averages about seventy square miles.  To provide service to this large territory, WTRS operates two stations with five fully equipped ambulances, a staff of over fifty career and volunteer EMTs, and support personnel.
